A lot has been happening here at Pen & Ink Designs over the last few weeks.
First off we are delighted to announce the publication and launch of the first book in the ‘Doyle’s Casebook Files’ Trilogy. Written by Ann Brady these short stories tell the tale of Tommy Doyle an ex-cop turned PI working in an area of Los Angeles, California. They are a light hearted read with the first book including the winning story ‘WhoDunIt’ from the Open & Shut Short Story Competition.
The second book in the series titled Another Visit to Doyle’s Casebook is due to be released mid-September with the final book, yet to be titled, being released early November.
We also have another book due for release this next week titled The Survival Guide to Birthing written by experienced midwife Maureen Gannon. The book explains the nature of natural birthing and is a must read for all new and expectant parents. Maureen’s Parenting Book - the Second Edition - will be following shortly.
Our other good news is that we have now become a member of the new Welsh Group - CCPW - Cyhoeddi Cymru / Publishing Wales. The Group has been set up with the aims to unify, represent and promote publishers in Wales, and to develop the Welsh publishing sector into an international powerhouse. CCPW is working towards creating an authoritative voice for the Wales’ publishing sector, operating bilingually, and aiming to support the needs of all publishers, irrespective of language, market, format, or business model. CCPW will represent the needs and aspirations of Welsh publishers and work collaboratively to develop our collective excellence and global reach. With support from the Books Council of Wales, CCPW was initially founded by a small representative sample of publishers and they welcome all established publishing houses headquartered in Wales.
We are also pleased to announce that Pen & Ink Designs now have links in America with the IBPA - Independent Book Publishers Association. IBPA is an association of independent book publishers dedicated to professionalism and excellence. They make it easier for independent publishers to navigate the sometimes intimidating publishing process with over 60 unique member benefits and offer educational benefits and discussion forums.
And that’s it for now. Keep checking back for more updates.
