Welcome and a Happy New Year.
We have been quite busy over the last few months endeavouring to bring our publishing business up to speed, as well as publishing a few new books. During the 2021 we published and launched nine books and have started 2022 off with the expected publication and launch of a second book for midwife/author Maureen Gannon.
Things constantly change within the publishing industry; we hope always for the better. So here is what we have to announce?
Well, first of all we are pleased to say we have been recognised as an official member of CCPW (Cyhoeddi Cymru | Publishing Wales) - a new organisation founded to represent publishers in Wales.
CCPW has been set up with the aims to unify, represent and promote publishers in Wales, and to develop Wales’ publishing sector into an international powerhouse. Their aim is to work towards creating an authoritative voice for the Wales’ publishing sector, operating bilingually and aiming to support the needs of all publishers irrespective of language, market, format, or business model. CCPW will represent the needs and aspirations of Wales’ publishers and work collaboratively to develop our collective excellence and global reach. With support from the Books Council of Wales, CCPW was initially founded by a small representative sample of publishers and welcomes all established publishing houses headquartered in Wales.
This last month we have opened a new account and are now working with Lightening Source. This will give us access to much more business opportunities which will benefit our authors.
We are also working closely with Mentoring Writers and their associate the Kids4Kids Organisation as we collate and prepare a series of educational booklets aimed at helping new and developing writers of all ages to learn more about the writing craft. Keep an eye open for these forthcoming publications.
Currently we have a number of new publications close to completion which we will be arranging publishing for. More details will follow. Including details of one of our youngest writers/authors Lorella Pacey who is aged 10 and who has written her first Picture Book titled Jolly Loves Jelly.
The website will be changing as we update the services and links available to our current and potential authors. These will include access to Illustrators, Editors, Proof-Readers and, of course, mentoring where required.
Check out the latest news from the world of publishing page - this is a new area that we feel will benefit both traditional and Indie authors. It will offer you tips, hints and what’s happening out there in the big world of publishing.
